Sarah Brown

Bachelor of Science, University of Victoria, Canada.
Certificate, Companion Animal Nutrition, University of Illinois, USA.

Sarah joined the pet food industry in 2008, with a premium natural food business in Canada.  She started out in Quality Assurance then moved over to R&D to pursue her true passions: nutrition, product development, and innovation.  Sarah has a strong background in extrusion and freeze-drying technologies and ensures that all new foods made by PetCare Kitchen are nutritious, delicious, and can also be made effectively.  She enjoys the puzzle of how ingredients and nutrients interact together, both in the manufacturing stage and within the final consumers (dogs and cats) to encourage positive health outcomes.

Sarah has been with MasterPet since 2022, shortly after her family arrived from Canada.   She lives in Parkes, NSW, close to PetCare Kitchen and supports the operations team there.  She enjoys collaborating with other subject matter experts across the business in R&D and Marketing in developing new and exciting foods for dogs and cats.

One of her favourite responsibilities outside of R&D is in product and nutrition education, and she enjoys participating in training sessions and sharing her knowledge with others.

Sarah currently has two pets at home.  First, a 16-year-old Tortie cat named Cruxy, who Sarah adopted as a kitten and made the trip over from Canada with her.  Second, is a 1 year old Shmoodle named Barnaby, who joined the family in 2022 and has not yet gotten out of his chewing stage, shoes are his favourite.
