Sarah is passionate about positive health outcomes for our four-legged customers and brings that passion to our Pet Care Kitchen in Parkes as Research and Development manager.

Sarah has had an extensive and varied career in the pet food industry, first in her home country of Canada and now in Australia. Starting in 2008, she worked for a premium natural food business in Quality Assurance before moving over to R&D to pursue her true passions: nutrition, product development and innovation. Her strong background in extrusion and freeze-drying technologies as well as product development and innovation, ensures that all new foods made by Pet Care Kitchen are nutritious, delicious, and can also be made effectively.

“I enjoy the puzzle of how ingredients and nutrients interact together, both in the manufacturing stage and within the final consumers (dogs and cats).”

She likes collaborating with other subject matter experts across the business in R&D and Marketing to develop new and exciting foods for dogs and cats. One of her favourite responsibilities outside of R&D is in product and nutrition education, and she enjoys participating in training sessions and sharing her knowledge with others.

“I have learned a lot throughout my career about nutrition, ingredients, and manufacturing, and always relish the opportunity to share that knowledge with others, so they too have the confidence to choose the most ideal diet or treat for their pets.”

Sarah is pet parent to a rescue DSH cat named Minnie and a Shmoodle named Barnaby. They love to taste test new recipes from Pet Care Kitchen and Sarah keeps them front of mind when developing new recipes.
