Love the new Puppy Wet Food

How should I mix wet and dry foods?
The term ‘mixed feeding’ means combining dry kibble with wet foods (loaf style tins or cans, chunks in gravy or jelly). Pet owners often go down this route to provide a variety of textures, to improve taste and satisfaction, particularly in pets seen to be ‘fussy’, or to give your pet some new and exciting meal options.
When mixed feeding, be sure not to skew the careful balance of nutrients and calories that you’re offering. Take note of the number of calories in every can or pouch, and remove the equivalent measure of biscuits from their dry food ration.

Can Black Hawk wet dog foods be fed by themselves?
Black Hawk wet dog foods (in a can or tray) can be fed as a complete, nutritionally balanced meal to adult dogs. They contain all of the nutrients it takes to keep them healthy, without the need to feed other foods.
Most often, we find pet parents feed Black Hawk wet food in combination with Black Hawk dry food to supplement their dog’s meal and provide some added variety in smell, texture and ingredients, meaning that all tastes and the fussiest of dogs enjoy their meals.
Does Black Hawk dog food contain any additives or preservatives?
Black Hawk wet and dry food contains only natural preservatives. A natural preservative is one that occurs naturally in nature, as opposed to a chemical preservative that is made synthetically such as BHT, BHA or ethoxyquin which are often found in cheaper brands.
The natural preservatives we use in our products include rosemary extract, vitamin E (tocopherol) and vitamin C.
Who formulates the Black Hawk range of pet foods?
We have an in-house formulation team with a collective 59 years of applied experience who are qualified in veterinary and nutritional science, including degrees in Animal Nutrition from the School of Environmental and Rural Science at the University of New England.
We also employ 3 vets in our Research & Development team, who have worked in clinical practice and have extensive experience in the commercial pet food industry. They work with an external network of veterinarians, clinical specialists, nutritional scientists and researchers.
Being an Australian-formulated and produced product, our team knows our recipes inside-out, and we’re close to the manufacturing process
