Black Hawk is proud to announce our partnership with Guide Dogs Australia, feeding the canine heroes of today and into the future. We believe in the power of great food to provide the care every dog deserves, so we’re using our extensive experience to support the health of Guide Dogs every step of the way, from puppy to life-changing companion. We’re donating our premium products to help the team at Guide Dogs Australia nurture dogs for optimal health and service.
Care. Our most important ingredient.
At Black Hawk, our most important ingredient is care - care that goes into every recipe to ensure dogs receive the nutrition they need to thrive. This same dedication to care is at the heart of the Guide Dogs Australia program, where expertly trained dogs provide life-changing assistance and companionship to people with vision impairment. From the careful selection of breeding dogs to the nurturing of puppies and the rigorous training process, every step is guided by a deep sense of responsibility and compassion. Together, Black Hawk and Guide Dogs Australia demonstrate that when care is the foundation, extraordinary outcomes are possible.
Supporting Australians with Low Vision since 1957
Guide Dogs Australia has been supporting Australians with low vision since 1957 and is now one of Australia’s most iconic and trusted charities. The amazing work of Guide Dogs Australia enables thousands of adults and children living with low vision or blindness to live fulfilling lives with confidence, companionship and greater independence.
Whether it be a Companion, Therapy, Facility, Autism Assistance or Guide Dog, we are delighted that all the very best ingredients of our Black Hawk food will help in bringing out the very best of these amazing Dogs.
As part of the partnership, Black Hawk will supply premium pet food tailored to meet the unique dietary needs of guide dogs. Proper nutrition is essential for maintaining the health, energy, and focus required for their demanding work. Black Hawk’s scientifically formulated recipes use high-quality, natural ingredients that support optimal health, including strong muscles, healthy joints, and sharp mental alertness.
This partnership underscores a shared commitment to animal welfare and community service. Through combined efforts, both organisations are paving the way for a healthier, more empowered future for guide dogs and the people who rely on them.
Meet 'Hawk'
In celebration of our partnership with Guide Dogs, we have had the exciting opportunity to name a new Guide Dog puppy - who by popular vote from the team at Black Hawk, have fondly named, 'Hawk'.
Hawk's mother, Ren, gave birth to a litter of 8 adorable puppies in October 2024. And for the next 12 months Hawk will be welcomed into the home by an approved Guide Dogs Puppy Raiser to grow and learn basic skills. These basic skills include behaviours such as sitting, lead walking, house manners, socialisation as well as toileting, feeding and sleeping.
