Black Hawk is not a prescription allergy diet, so for dogs with severe allergies we recommend you seek dietary advice from your veterinarian. For dogs with mild allergies or sensitive tummies, Black Hawk Original Fish & Potato dog food has a more unusual protein source, and novel carbohydrates such as potato, oats and rice which are naturally gentle on the digestive system.
Black Hawk Grain Free Salmon dog food is another great option for some dogs with skin issues. Fish based diets have higher levels of omega 3 fatty acids which naturally reduce inflammation and help support the skin-barrier.
How can I keep weight on my dog?
For those dogs which struggle to keep weight on, we recommend feeding our Black Hawk Grain Free range. The Grain Free range has higher protein and fat levels, which can help promote weight gain.
Usually dogs which struggle to maintain weight are those which are very active. If your dog is struggling to maintain weight suddenly for an unknown reason, we recommend checking with your veterinarian.
