Hank Faifua & Tony Fox, Benbridge Whippets
Our journey into the pedigree dog world began in Auckland back in 2006 when we were lucky enough to meet a breeder who allowed us to begin an incredible and exciting journey.
As a couple that had not previously been involved in the amazing world of pedigree dogs, the learning curve has been huge.
However, with the wonderful support and mentoring of Eva Ekstam & Ian Smith at Ronndal Whippets, we rose to the challenge.
Now, after 17 years, the love and passion we developed for this breed drives us to look at how we can ensure that the breed remains healthy and fit for function. Part of this journey is knowing the breeds traits and qualities as well as the pedigrees of ours and other Whippet breeders breeding programmes.
For the last 13 years we have been living in the South Island, Christchurch, where we breed and exhibit our Whippets. Our Kennel has been recognised with multiple All Breeds Best in Shows and Specialty in Show awards as well as Dogs Online pointscore Breeder of the Year along with being recognised as having top winning Whippets in all categories.
We have bred multiple New Zealand Champions as well as an Australian Supreme Champion and two New Zealand Supreme Champions. One of these, Vann "NZ. SPR. CH. Benbridge Have I Told U Lately" is the youngest Whippet in New Zealand to gain his Grand Champion title at just 2 years of age and to top that he gained his Supreme title at just 3 years of age, again setting another record for the youngest Whippet to achieve this.
Our priority is to provide healthy, happy, and outgoing Whippets to loving forever homes. A big part of ensuring we breed fit healthy Whippets is nutrition and here at Benbridge, Black Hawk provides everything our Whippets need to ensure they are always in top condition.
Our team have been fed Black Hawk from when it first became available in New Zealand.
Black Hawk ensures our Whippets are getting balanced, healthy, and nutritious meals ensuring shinier coats and happier, healthier Whippets at all stages of their lives.
