I have always had a passion for rare breeds, starting 25 years ago with Shar-Pei I entered the conformation ring in obedience competing for 5 years, with the loss of my top winning female Holly I chose to have a big break to have a family

12 years later my passion for dogs put me on the search for a new rare breed that would fit my loves of my life, the beach, kids/family. Lagotto Romagnolo (Italian Water Dog) it was, they certainly fit the brief with the guidance of a fabulous mentor Judith Nolan (Incavale Kennels) I was able to enjoy presenting the Lagotto with its true to breed rustic look, people loving to judges and potential pet owners helping get the breed recognised in Australia

Also In this time I became a proud employee of Masterpet group/family which allowed my passion for animals to shine with all the great benefits of Black Hawk for my dogs. The switch was perfect timing the dogs needed a new premium biscuit to improve coat lustre, better colour and size of stools, energy releasing and all round better health.

Travelling to the World Dog Show in 2015 I fell for two rare breeds, the Spanish Water and Hungarian Pumi, both are now part of our show team. Both working breeds with true traits to herding, the need for a high-quality control energy releasing nutrient biscuit which Black Hawk has a great variety to accommodate all types of breed specifics.

Last year we had the first registered litter of Spanish Water Dogs in Australia and thanks to Black Hawk launching their new grain free puppy biscuit at the same time we were able to trial it, also for a Lagotto litter and our new Pumi puppy. We were very impressed with the results, growth and development for all the puppies. Especially with SWD they are a fast-growing breed and need controlled development, we were happy to continue this in gifting our new pet puppy owners with the Black Hawk puppy packs containing a variety of puppy and adult biscuits. Puppies from this litter have gone onto being well recognised in the conformation ring with great bone, construction, coat definition with critics from local and international judges, important to the breed thanks to Black Hawk.

Black Hawk has been a very important factor to develop these breeds in Australia this is why we will continue strongly recommend it to all breeds and pet owners.
