Makaela Chato

Makaela has been involved in the dog world for many years, and turned her passion into a living being a professional dog groomer. Having always been involved with breeding along side her grandmother, it was only fitting that she met her husband Aaron (Baghdad Salukis) through the dog world as well.

Makaela was gifted her first show dog at age 12, a Shetland Sheepdog commonly referred to as a Sheltie. Makaela and her Grandmother bred their first litter a year later under the SHELTASTIC prefix.

Along side Aaron, they now breed Shelties and Salukis in Victoria and have been extremely successful with dogs in Australia and with dogs that have been sent abroad. 

A qualified Junior Handler judge after successful handlers careers including Makaela representing Australia at 'Crufts Dog Show', she is now studying to become Working Dog judge.

Healthy dogs start with healthy diets, we do all required breed testing in both breeds, but they wouldn't be in the top condition they are without the help of great food.

Our team has been fuelled on Black Hawk from before we can even remember.

The salukis thrive on both Black Hawk Original Lamb & Rice and Black Hawk Original Fish & Potato, whilst the shelties look fabulous on Black Hawk Original Fish & Potato. With our golden oldies thriving on Blackhawk Healthy Benefits Joints & Muscle. All our puppies are raised on Black Hawk Puppy Chicken & Rice. The awards, and the healthiness of their coats and bodies speak for themselves.
